Spring Grove icebreaker kicks off P7 Shared Education programme
The P7 class enjoyed a nature trail to Spring Grove Park, Roslea. We were blessed to have a lovely day and the children had fun mixing with other pupils from St. Joseph's PS, Donagh and Newtownbutler PS. The pupils were split up into groups of 7 and completed activities based on the nature trail from a booklet. They found out about a range of trees, old stone buildings and some habitats of people and animals. They were all fascinated by a monkey beech tree! We used compass bearings and most importantly, it was great to get out for a walk for our physical and mental health.
We will be taking part in three carousel sessions over the next number of weeks based on the Rainforest/ Climate change and focus on different sporting cultures such as rugby, Gaelic football and cricket. A celebration day will then be planned for the classes. Please discuss with your children the impact of climate change and how rainforests play a key part in our world. Some research would be recommended. Thanks!
