Shared Education learning at CAFRE College for P7s
The Primary 7s have been working with their P7 peers at Newtownbutler PS and St. Joseph's Donagh over the last couple of weeks. Our themes have been healthy eating/living and wildlife/taking care of our environment. We had previously attended a nature trail in Spring Grove Forest, Roslea and today we had the opportunity to become familiar with wildlife and birds in CAFRE College, Enniskillen. The students played an alphabet game on bird species and were impressive on this topic. Then the three schools were split into two groups where we went on a nature walk, looking out for birds and completing some activities along the way. The groups found some interesting creatures such as millipedes and even a small frog (which looked much bigger with the microscope). Searching the water with nets for water life was the next adventure and the students enjoyed this task and then used a key to outline any water life that they found. On the way back, we spotted Devenish Island from the top of the hill and the towers with a bit of history knowledge given. One group got a great experience when they made their way to a blacksmith who showed the students how to perform the art of making a hoof for horses. We encourage our parents and children to get outside, take care of our environment and promote healthy living at home which will lead to a better future for all! Some photos are shared above:
